Submerged arc welding

In plants producing large-diameter water, oil and gas pipes, submerged arc welding of pipes, whether spiral or straight-seam, an operator is needed to keep the welding nozzle or head exactly on the centre of the seam. Human error in this method makes the weld drift off the seam and leads to lack of fusion or incomplete penetration. With an automatic welding or seam tracking system, the nozzle can be held exactly on the seam centre through long production shifts without the slightest break, sharply reducing the chance of drifting off the seam. The know-how behind the system is local, and Iranian operators' feedback went into its design. It is also simple to use, so operators of any skill level work with it easily. Beyond the pipe industry, it is used in car manufacturing, steel-structure building and any other industry that needs to detect and locate a seam, gap or ridge precisely. What does a seam tracking system change?

In submerged arc welding, any drift of the nozzle off the seam lowers weld quality. The RasaAndishan weld seam tracking system keeps the nozzle on the seam continuously and automatically. The nozzle height is also adjusted automatically. Seam deviation errors drop compared with manual work. Repairs caused by the nozzle leaving the seam also go down.
