RA-ASC-5000-I camera
The design and manufacture of the RA-ASC-5000-I camera has been completed. Features include a 60 Hz frame rate, frame straddling, ROI mode and a global shutter.

Design and construction of the RA-ASC-5000-I was completed in March 2022. It has a CMOS sensor with 2592 × 2048 pixels. Each pixel is 4.8 µm. This camera has the largest CMOS sensor among RasaAndishan area scan cameras. Data is transferred over USB3.0. The camera captures 60 frames per second at full resolution and has a global shutter.
Its Double Shutter and Frame Straddling modes make this camera suitable for Particle image velocimetry (PIV). In this method, two images of particles in the flow are taken a very short time apart. The particle displacement between the two images shows the flow velocity. The camera syncs to the laser source and can also sync the laser.
Another application of this camera is digital image correlation (DIC) in dynamic tests. Inspecting moving objects over a large field of view is also one of its applications. AOI mode selects a specific region of the image and increases the imaging speed. This camera operates from -30 to +70 degrees Celsius.
The strength of this camera is its combination of large pixels and high speed. At short exposures, each pixel collects about 4.8 times the signal of the 2.2 µm pixel in the RA-ASC-9031 camera. That is why it also works well with low-energy pulsed light sources.
The camera's large sensor also affects lens choice. The lens needs an image circle larger than 15.8 mm. For a 300 mm field of view at a distance of one meter, you need a lens with a focal length of about 41 mm. The lens must also resolve details as small as 4.8 µm.
