2048-pixel line scan camera with electronic shutter
The design and manufacture of the RA-LSC-0751 line scan camera was completed in October 2015. This camera was designed and built for spectroscopy and even high-speed imaging. The RA-LSC-0751 line scan camera is a 2048-pixel monochrome camera. Each pixel is 14 × 14 μm. The camera reads 2376 lines per second. Its spectral response runs from 400 to 1000 nm. Its dynamic range reaches 6000:1. Data is recorded with a 16-bit converter.
When an object moves fast or vibrates, its edges smear in the image. This camera's electronic shutter cuts the exposure time down to 1 μs. So edges stay sharp in the image. This feature also helps you near hot processes or laser sources. In such places, intense light can easily saturate the sensor.
In strip guiding, this camera reports the position of the edge of the sheet or wire. The offset setting keeps the black level constant. If you set the edge threshold as a relative value (for example, halfway between the dark and bright levels), the edge does not shift when the light gets brighter or dimmer.
