Product sorting camera
RasaAndishan Mowj Pardaz is one of the first manufacturers of product sorting cameras in Iran.
Before getting to know the company, many RasaAndishan customers thought it was impossible to build an Iranian camera for product sorting. They would ask us in surprise which foreign company we represented, or which foreign company's camera circuits we had copied. Today, however, RasaAndishan has become a brand for fully domestically built cameras in Iran. Although some electronic components such as the CCD are sourced from abroad, the advantage of RasaAndishan cameras is that they can be customized for each customer at minimal cost. Foreign cameras, by contrast, have a fixed architecture, and the customer has to adapt to it. On a sorting line, the product passes the camera on a conveyor belt. The camera records the color and texture of each piece. Based on this image, the software decides which piece to reject. This process is called optical sorting.
One RasaAndishan option for this job is the RA-LSC-2566 color line scan camera. It has three 5340-pixel lines for red, green and blue. Its speed reaches 4536 lines per second. Data is transferred to the computer over USB3.0.
The conveyor speed must also match the camera's line rate. When each pixel sees 100 micrometers of the product, the belt speed should not exceed about 0.45 meters per second. Otherwise the image will be stretched or compressed. At 4536 lines per second, each line has only about 220 microseconds of exposure time. So your sorting line needs strong, continuous lighting.
This product sorting camera grades fruit, vegetables and dried fruit and nuts by quality, size, color or blemishes. With a 534 mm field of view, each pixel sees 100 μm of the product.
