Successful test of Iranian photo finish system at Shahr-e Aftab cycling races
In May 2024, the Model 1000 photo finish system was tested and evaluated at the cycling track of the Shahr-e Aftab complex, alongside the federation's photo finish system. Fortunately, as you can see, the high image quality and sharpness and the 0.3-millisecond precision make the Iranian photo finish a strong competitor to similar foreign systems. This fully Iranian system has a precision of 0.3 milliseconds and captures images at 2700-pixel quality. It also comes with 24-hour support. These features make the Iranian photo finish a serious option for speed races in Iran.
In Track cycling Riders cross the finish line at high speed. Spotting the winner at that moment with the naked eye is difficult. A finish camera records only what happens on the finish line. The horizontal position of each point in the image shows the crossing time.
The Model 1000 is the basic version of the RasaAndishan photo finish system. This model uses a manual M42 lens. It meets the basic need of capturing the finish-line photo. However, this model depended heavily on ambient lighting. When sunlight changed quickly, the user had to adjust the lens aperture by hand.
The 2000 model was designed to solve this problem. It uses Lux Boost technology and motorised Canon lenses. A filter activation mechanism was also added in this model to improve colour accuracy. In the current generation the filter is always on and the camera sees the 400–700 nm range.
The 3000 model has all the features of the 2000. Its mirror and finish line adjustment is motorised. You can set the time display precision from 0.1 to 0.00001 s (five decimal places).
