Seam Tracking System
The Seam Tracking System is used in plants producing large-diameter water, oil and gas pipes. While the pipe seam is welded, whether spiral or straight, it keeps the welding nozzle or head exactly on the centre of the seam. With manual guidance, human error makes the weld drift off the seam, which leads to lack of fusion or incomplete penetration. With automatic welding or seam tracking, the welding nozzle stays exactly on the seam centre through long production shifts, without any break, and the chance of drifting off the seam drops sharply. The know-how behind the system is local, and Iranian operators' feedback went into its design. It is also simple to use, so operators of any skill level work with it easily. The system is not limited to the pipe industry: it is also used in car manufacturing, steel structures and industrial buildings, and in any other industrial process that requires precise detection of a seam, gap or ridge. Every plant has different needs, so we built the system in three models. Below you can read about the benefits of seam tracking and watch a video of the system at work.

Why use a seam tracking system instead of manual control?
- Continuous automatic positioning of the welding nozzle on the seam
- Automatic nozzle height adjustment
- Less seam deviation error than with manual control
- Fewer repairs caused by the nozzle leaving the seam than with manual control
- Higher seam tracking accuracy than with manual control
- Higher weld quality than with manual control
