Controllable Canon lenses
Most camera users want to be able to adjust the mechanical diaphragm, or iris, and focus on their subject. Fortunately, RasaAndishan's research and development department has recently succeeded in driving various Canon lenses on line scan cameras cameras. So RasaAndishan customers can mount various controllable Canon lenses on the new cameras.

With a controllable Canon lens, you don't need to touch the camera to adjust focus or aperture. These settings are made from within the software. This is valuable when the camera is installed somewhere hard to reach.
The iris, or aperture, controls how much light passes through the lens. In manual iris lenses, the image drifts from normal when the ambient light changes. With a controllable lens, you readjust the aperture from the software.
The RA-LSC-2566 color line scan camera is one of the cameras with this feature. It accepts all kinds of Canon electronic lenses. The lens aperture and focus are changed in the software. This camera has 5340 color pixels and runs at up to 4536 lines per second. Its applications include sorting agricultural products and detecting defects on production lines.
The RasaAndishan Model 2000 photo finish system also uses Canon motorized lenses. In this system, focus and light intensity are adjusted from the software. This feature solved one of the problems of the Model 1000. In the Model 1000, rapid changes in sunlight forced the user to adjust the lens aperture by hand.
Choosing a lens is not only about the mount. The focal length sets the lens's angle of view and depth of view. The longer the focal length, the narrower the field of view. Lens quality matters too, because all the light that reaches the sensor passes through the lens.
